As part of the international festival of contemporary music "The forms of sound 2022",
on 8 October 2022 the seminar "Visionary Machines" by Alberto Giordano was held at the "Ottorino Respighi" Conservatory of Music based on the history of the first digital systems for music invented by Prof. Giuseppe Di Giugno, himself present at seminary.
Alberto Giordano accurately documented the inventions and their evolution, as reported in the book “Peppino Di Giugno, Italian genius. Digital Machines for Music in Real Time ”, curated by Silvia Lanzalone and created with the contribution of MIBACT, Esarmonia 2020 editions.
Prof. Di Giugno recalled the first digital processors of the 70s and played several examples of synthesis made with his systems ( 4X e MARS) telling many anecdotes of his work with well-known electronic music composers.
