The Equalizer o Eq together with the Compressor, it is one of the two indispensable “tools” for the engineer to work on the sound.
Any microphone take, but even a simple loop or sampled groove, needs, in phase Mix and / or Mastering, to be smoothed or emphasized on certain frequencies to allow the sound to be modeled on the entire sound spectrum.
The technicians compare the Eq to the color palette of a painter who, with skilful use, manages to bring out colors and shades even using only a few shades.
