The debate on the role of the interpreter has been open for many decades, and it has often been discussed how far an interpreter can go towards a personal-creative-arbitrary interpretation of the score. This concert-challenge is aimed at rejuvenating the piano recital and giving the public greater stimuli for a more aware, critical and participatory listening. The program is divided into three parts. In the first, the real challenge, Roberto Prosseda and the robot will take turns at the piano, performing the same songs. The robot will play in a "robotic" way, literally reproducing the score, so as to highlight the differences between a mere reproduction and a freer interpretation. The second part will see the robot engaged in embodying interpretations of great pianists of the past, (Rachmaninoff, Busoni,Hoffman), reproducing the roll engravings. The aesthetic debate will therefore move to the history of piano interpretation, offering extremely rare plays and critical insights to consider the evolution of piano interpretation over the last 100 years. In the third and last part the robot will perform original music for player-piano, such as Strawinsky's Etude for pianola, some studies by Conlon Nancarrow and two songs written specifically for Theo Tronico da Nicola campogrande e Stefano Ianne.
