Shortly after the publication of the Apollo Twin double test, hardware/with , Universal Audio has made available the new series of Satellitte cards on Thuderbolt port.
I remember, for the record, that the Satellite series allows you to load and use all the plug.ins of the UAD series (to date more than 100), using dedicated processing thanks to the combined use of SHARC CPU. The new Satellite series features a use of 4 (Model QUAD) or 8 (Model OCT) processors SHARC extension.
For each model two solutions have been proposed:
1) the CORE version, which includes plug-ins from the Analog Classic Bundle (UA 610-B Preamp & EQ and the Legacy editions of the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LN / 1176SE Classic Limiting Amplifier, Fairchild 670 Tube Limiter, Pultec Pro Equalizers, UA Precision Enhancer Hz, CS-1 Precision Channel, and RealVerb Pro);
2) the CUSTOM version, which adds to the plug.ins already present in the CORE version, 3 other plug.ins at the user's discretion, among those available today on the UA website (excellent solution for those who intend to use UAD plugins for Mastering, but not only. Ed.) Finally, for the OCTO model only, the UA also makes the version available ULTIMATE, which already includes 79 UAD plugins made available up to version 7.8 of the software (at the time of writing the news, the UAD is at version 7.10).
