After a few months of negotiations, today the Harman brand disappears from the lists of Wall Street, becoming part of the giant Samsung.

The company founded in 1953 da Sydney Harman Bernard Kardon specializes in high quality audio products.
Over the years it has in turn absorbed many high-profile brands in the audio field, starting with Jbl, passing through Studer, Soundcraft, Lexicon, Digitech, Martin Audio, Akg, Crown Audio, BSS and DBX which will now become of owned by the Korean giant.

All this is attributable to the attempt to Samsung to fill the gap in the audio that it has always had towards the rival Apple within the smartphone sector e Smart TV.
The first results will be obtained with the new Samsung telephone products that will have Akg earphones and speakers designed in synergy with Jbl.
Another area in which Samsung will probably try to partner with Apple, but also a LG e Google, concerns the automotive sector, the keystone of this agreement, where the know-how of Harman, which has already dealt with the equipment within some models of the group FCA (from Fiat a Maserati) to Lexus, will certainly come in handy for the Korean group.
In short, the synergy between the two groups at the moment seems more one-way, with Harman providing numerous ideas for future Samsung products. On the contrary, it is difficult to imagine a Samsung landing in professional audio if not with the supply of oled screens e touch screen, for example, for futures digital mixers.
Harman will operate as an independent subsidiary of Samsung. The company will be supervised by a dedicated Board of Directors, maintaining the headquarters, workforce and all audio brands.
