The Milanese duo formed by Cecilia Miradoli and Max Tarenzi creates an album that draws heavily on sounds and arrangements of the new wave, of the synth rock of the 80s, winks at the trip hop of the 90s. This does not mean that we are in front of the epigones, but it is a production that has in any case well absorbed and reworked an already well codified language.
After all, you can feel the cosmopolitan breath of the duo both as musicians and as organizers of the festival "A night like this”, An event that had the great merit of hosting divergent and alternative musical realities on the international scene in a suggestive landscape setting.
The opening piece "Toy”Is accompanied by a video shot completely in sequence shot and inspired by Yoko Ono's“ Cut Piece ”performance, a sign of attention also to the most disruptive artistic languages.
Effective is the arrangement of the obsessive rhythm and the work of the guitars that well underline the message of the text, perhaps representing the most successful episode of the album. Similar themes such as loneliness, empathy, alienation appear in "Amy","Breaking"and "cosmic tune”, A persuasive closing ballad embellished by the vocalist and the counter-songs of the guitars.
From a technical point of view nothing to say, the record sounds very good and has a well-balanced mix thanks also to the contribution of sound engineers from across the Alps who have worked in the prestigious London studios of Abbey Road. Despite the good arrangements, the writing of the songs remains, in my opinion, rather usual.

The Italian duo formed by Cecilia Miradoli and Max Tarenzi makes an album that draws heavily on the sounds and arrangements of the new wave, the 80's synth rock without forgetting the glorious trip hop of the 90s. Of course they do not represen epigones, but it is a production that has in any case well absorbed and re-elaborated an already well-coded language.
After all, the duo's cosmopolitan mood is remarkable in them both as musicians and as organizers of the festival “A night like this”, an event that had the great merit of hosting divergent and alternative musical realities of the international scene in a suggestive landscape setting.
The opening piece “Toy” is accompanied by a video shot completely in sequence and inspired by the performance “Cut Piece"by Yoko Ono, to prove attention also to the most disruptive artistic languages. The arrangement is well done thanks to the obsessive rhythm and the guitars that well emphasize the lurics' message representing perhaps the most successful episode of the album. Similar themes such as loneliness, empathy, alienation appear in "Amy","Breaking"And"Cosmic tune", a persuasive closing ballad embellished by the vocalist and the guitars' counterpoints. From a technical point of view nothing to say, the album sounds very good and has a well balanced mix thanks also to the contribution of the foreign sound engineers who worked in the prestigious Abbey Road studios in London. Despite the good arrangements the writing of the songs remains, in my opinion, quite usual.
