The new Sequential Pro 3 follows on from the Pro 1 and Pro 2 which, thanks to their distinctive timbres, are still widely used for many modern productions where the required electronic sound must be first rate. It was only natural for Dave Smith to reinforce the strengths of the Pro Line by developing a successor that has many new arrows to his bow.

Sequential presents the  Pro 3: a hybrid synthesizer that blends the best of analog and digital technology.

The instrument works both as a classic monophonic and in a three-note paraphonic way, thanks to its three oscillators. Three selectable filters, extensive modulation capabilities, a powerful sequencer, digital effects and more complete the new model's audio angle.

The three oscillators of the new PRO 3 feature two classic VCOs and a wavetable oscillator. Analog oscillators provide triangular, sawtooth, and pulse waveforms; the wavetable oscillator offers 32 tables of 16 waves each, with a capacity of Morphing. These oscillators are then mixed and modeled via the filter section, which allows you to choose between different filtering modes.

Il filter 1 is a 4-pole resonant low pass filter based on the classic filter Prophet-6. The second filter is a transistor ladder with resonance compensation, thus managing to make the low frequency range very full and rich in harmonics even with higher resonance settings. The third filter is 2-pole variable state based on the filter of theOB-6, with a seamless transition between Low Pass (LPF), Notch and High Pass (HPF), plus an optional Band Pass (BPF. It is not specified how this can be activated.). One more check Drive it allows you to obtain sounds suitable for creating synth leads or very pushy and dirty sounds.

The end of the audio path includes a section a double digital effect, which includes, among others, reverbs, phasers, flangers, synchronizable delays.

Internal memory contains 512 Preset preset and as many free memories available to the user.

The Modulation Matrix provides 32 slots, with possible 46 sources and 171 destinations.

Il Sequencer internal allows the management of 16 tracks and 4 × 16 Step Phrase, while the Arpeggiator, which can be synchronized, among other things, allows interaction with the lines programmed with the Sequencer.

The “tactile control” features a 3 octave semi-weighted, dynamic keyboard with AfterTouch, 60 potentiometers, 70 buttons, illuminated Pitch and Modulation Wheel (the Pitch Bend is independently adjustable for both the Upper and Lower sound Layers).

The connections to and from the outside include: 2 Out ¼ (6,3mm); 4/2 CV single Audio In input, XNUMX CV I / O plus a Gate Out, MIDI In, Out xXNUMX, Thru, USB, Sustain Pedal and Espressivo inputs.
