Universal Audio has given birth to a new product category called UAFX, which launches the US company in the world of stompboxes, further raising the bar in an environment that seemed saturated for some time.
Therefore they are born three new pedals , called Astra, Golden e Starlight.
Going to analyze these innovations in general, we are faced with three pedals equipped with the new one Engine UAFX they can offer a sound difficult to reproduce by a normal stomp, having an evolution of the DSP already present on audio interfaces for some time.
All these new stomp are equipped with three effects each (with the possibility of carrying out upgrade through UAD site). There are several ways of use (Simple Presets\live mode) and each of them is equipped with both true bypass that of buffered bypass.
The three stomp, provide the ability to save your presets, as well as work in both stereo and dual mono with auto-detect inputs \ outputs when activated.
Features individual pedals
Analyzing the individual pedals we have the Golden Reverberator which comes with three historical effects already in the UAD plug-in catalog, namely:
- Spring 65 (three different types derived from the Fender '65)
- Plate 140 (three different types derived from the historical EMT 140)
- Hall 224 (Room, Small Hall, Large Hall derived from the historian Lexicon of the 1978)
The pedal features both True Bypass and Buffered Bypass, plus upon recording, UAD gives two bonus effects, Or the Plate and Chamber 224.
The second pedal is lo Starlight Echo Station which comes with 3 delays legendary.
- EP-III tape (emulation of the Echoplex EP-3 with the tape age, splice, wow and flutter parameters included, plus there is the possibility to change the color of the preamp).
- Analog DMMs (derived from the historical Memory Man made famous by the U2 and Radiohead)
- Precision (derived from the historic UAD plugin)
There are various modes of use, Live, Preset and Tap + Preset. There are also six subdivisions, including two modes dual-delay. Also this pedal is equipped with true bypass or buffered bypass and as already mentioned above there is the possibility to select a different color of the preamp.
At the time of registration, UAD provides an additional add-on or the Free Cooper Time.
Finally the third pedal is theAstra Modulation Machine also comes with three basic options
- Chorus Brigade (based on the historical CE-1)
- Flanger\DBLR (which perfectly emulates the historian MXR studio flanger)
- Train 65 (which captures the classic vibrato sound present in the amplifier FENDER BLACKFACE).
