AgeofAudio has recently sent me a series of novelties to test in the studio. Among these, the first to which I dedicated myself is the new Microstation BT, an excellent tool, very practical that contains various features, enclosed in a small box.
By simply adding the Bluetooth and a sub out to any pair of powered speakers, allows you to create a simple system Wireless 2.1 practically everywhere. Let's quickly move on to analyze the specifics.

Front panel
On the front panel, we find four buttons, Bluetooth, which activates or deactivates the connection, mute button, sub bypass button and Pair button to associate the Microstation with any device with a Bluetooth connection. In the center we find a large volume control knob.
Back panel
On the rear panel, on the other hand, we find L \ R Jack \ Trs monitor input, 1 \ 8 "Aux in, 1 \ 8" Aux Out \ Phones, balanced L \ R monitor output and sub out on both jack and rca connectors.
The Microstation is essentially a smooth plastic box with only a metal bottom. But still it gives a feeling of solidity and durability. In the package we also find the USB-C power cable.

Test
Setting up the unit is very simple. Presonus supplies the usb-c cable only, without power terminal. For what has been my experience, I advise users to get at least an external USB power supply and not to connect the cable directly to a USB hub \ hard disk or similar, as I could hear some hum when listening, especially in headphones.
La Bluetooth connection between my phone and the Microstation it was very simple and immediate. By connecting everything to the monitors in my studio, I could appreciate how the Microstation doesn't add or subtract anything to the signal, which for me remains a basic aspect of any cheap or expensive Monitor Controller. The central volume knob produces absolutely no noise during rotation and even at high volume levels no background noise is perceived. To test the headphone output, there was nothing better than trying it with a drummer who, with a mobile phone connected via bluetooth, practiced for a few hours on the battery, without experiencing any specific problems, neither volume nor loss of sound. signal.
Conclusion
In short, Presonus has created a beautiful object, practically pocket-sized, that you can take anywhere. The neutrality of the sound and the construction are certainly its points in favor. I would have preferred a headphone output with Jack Trs, instead of 1 \ 8 "(or mini-jack if you prefer). It also lacks an on off button. Or rather, the button is there, but even if you go to Off, the card is still on….
Finally, Presonus, at the end of the instruction manual, gives us excellent advice, particularly suitable after many hours of work…. The preparation, through an accurate recipe, of Redfish Couvillon, a typical Louisiana dish, which at this point it will be mandatory to try!
