Made from a single solid block of aluminum, this portable professional audio interface integrates analog circuits e digital entirely redesigned and new energy saving technologies that guarantee an optimal quality level in all conditions. The first difference that is immediately evident compared to the previous version of the Babyface (now out of production) is the 'on board' equipment of all the main connections, without the need for the break out cable exterior not always practical and functional. For the main inputs and outputs RME has designed a new XLR socket which integrates perfectly into the chassis, allowing a good saving of space. The two headphone outputs, one with mini jack connector and one TRS in parallel, guarantee an optimal signal level for every situation, regardless of the headphones used.

I two preamps onboard with digital control provide power supply phantom 48V Individually Selectable: These brand new circuits offer up to 70 dB gain, adjustable in 3 dB steps, with also a relay-based PAD that guarantees an exceptional level of EIN (Eequivalent Input Noise), as well as overload protection and optimal gain even for microphones with low levels. The extremely careful design of the Babyface Pro allows you to work without the need for external power in practically any situation. The interface is perfectly stable with a bus power supply USB 3, but also with most connections USB 2, without any loss of performance. This makes the Babyface Pro the ideal solution for mobile recording, perfect for any occasion with a pair of condenser microphones. The wide range of connections also includes input and TOSLINK optical output usable as a door ADAT with SMUX support or as SPDIF for sessions up to 192 kHz. With an external ADAT converter, the Babyface Pro is capable of handling 12 analog inputs and 12 analog outputs, making it a perfect device for multitrack studio and live recording. To the inputs jacks 3 & 4 it is possible to connect instrument, line or high impedance signals, thus being able to record for example a guitar 'on the fly' without the need for other hardware. The equipment includes a MIDI input and a MIDI output via a special adapter cable.

Of course, the Babyface Pro also comes with the software TotalMix FX by RME, available for Windows, Mac OS X e iOS. TotalMix FX allows you to insert EQ, reverb and delay on all input and output channels up to 192 kHz. The Control Room section adds to the routing flexibility a series of advanced monitoring functions that greatly simplify the work in the studio.
