It is not easy to talk about PROG Metal. Who loves it does not explain it, whoever explains it belittles it, whoever plays it lets the listener grasp its essence, soul and history. And it is precisely with the listener's approach that we will continue to dedicate ourselves to DGM, a firm that has consolidated in this niche with significant success in almost twenty years of career and with a changing team over time.
Since the opening, entrusted to Hereafter, it is possible to see the imprint of this album: energy and melody wisely mixed by the national quintet in a ruthless rhythmic structure, which will also follow in several other tracks. enhancement e Not In Need flow that are a pleasure, with wider spaces to melodic maneuvers as daring as they are pleasant, to then leave the baton to No Looking Back; from the very first notes, this song is able to capture and transport in a storm of vibrations. It is not difficult to imagine, in any live, the audience chorus accompanying Mark Basile during the chorus.
Trapped turning point: hard, sometimes cinematic, worthy of a soundtrack for the limits scenes of an adventure film or a modern detective. The harmonies developed by the wise hands of Emanuele Casali introduce the listener to what will be a real progressive jubilation that will culminate in “…In a movie".
Away he is the headbanging guy: hard and energetic, with impactful riffs without neglecting the melody, summation of factors with a result worthy of a mythological setting. The electronic inserts (including trance, IDM and breakbeat) that open Heartache might worry the most uncompromising metalheads, but it would be an unfounded fear: this song too has qualities to sell and does not disappoint at all.

Rest in Peace e Brand New Blood, two classic power songs accompany the listener towards Fading & Falling or the melancholy ballad of the epilogue of this album characterized by adrenaline-pumping sounds. It is here that the DGMs demonstrate that they are mature enough to be able to transmit emotions even without having to resort to high speed and particular virtuosity. Could it really end here? As a bonus track we find Roses in the Wind, certainly not overly brilliant for innovation, but still tough enough to show us that this band will not fail to delight us for the next few years to come.

The album, as a whole, can be defined as largely satisfactory: the execution of the pieces is always played flawlessly. The sound of the whole disc is very compressed, there is a tendency to favor the slightly inadequate wall to fully exploit the individual performances (deserving of genuine praise). This record more than a real PROG I would consider it as a genre an excellent 90s symphonic metal (we have to convince ourselves that Metal + '90 does not necessarily result in Black Sabbath ...). On the other hand, this “démodé” reference seems to be confirmed by a sort of “occult dedication” to Malmsteen records such as “Odyssey”, as well as by the clear antithesis expressed with respect to polyrhythmic currents such as Djent.
Good Listening!

It's not easy to talk about PROG Metal. Those who love it do not explain it, those who explain it diminish it, those who play it leave it to the listener to understand its essence, its soul, its history. And it's with a listener's approach that we're about to focus on DGM, a name which has been consolidating with a remarkable success in this niche market during their almost twenty-year career and with a formation that has been changing over time.
Right from the opening song, Hereafter, it's possible to catch sight of the album style: energy and melody skillfully combined by our national quintet within a ruthless rhythm structure, which will be carried on through many other tracks. enhancement and Not In Need flow like a dream, bravely switching melodies throughout a wider space with a pleasant result, handing on the baton to No Looking Back; this track is able to capture and carry since the first few starting notes within a storm of vibes. It's not hard to imagine, in any live performance, the audience's voice accompanying on Mark Basile during the chorus part.
Trapped marks a turning point: heavy, cinematic at times, worthy of a soundtrack on the key scenes of an adventure or a modern detective movie. The harmonies, which have been arranged by Emanuele Casali's wise hand, introduces the listener to what will become a progressive blaze which will reach its peak with “…In a Movie”.
Away is the headbanging killer track: tough and energetic, with striking riffs but never failing to care about the melody, which, combining the two, gives a result worthy of a mythological setting. The electronic interventions (from trance, IDM to breakbeat) which introduces Heartache might have the diehard metalheads worrying, but it would be a pointless fear: also this track has quality in spades and it won't disappoint them at all.
Rest in Peace and Brand New Blood, two classic power songs, lead the listener towards Fading & Falling which is the melancholic ballad for this album's epilogue, characterized by adrenaline sounds, to say the least. This is the area where DGM proves to be mature enough to be able to transmit emotions without needing to turn to fast tempo and particular virtuosity either. Could it really end this way? We find Roses in the Wind as a bonus track, indeed not that brilliant in terms of innovation, but anyway it's strong enough to make us believe that this band will not fail to please us for the years to come.
he album, on the whole, can be described as fully satisfying: the tracks have always been played in an impeccable way. The overall sound is very compressed, and the wall, slightly inappropriate to fully enhance any single performance (truly worthy of praise), seems to be favored. More than a PROG album, I would consider this cd as a belonging to an excellent symphonic metal genre in 90's style (we must understand that Metal + 90's does not necessarily equal Black Sabbath…). After all, it looks to us as that this old school reference is confirmed by some sort of “secret devotion” for some Malmsteen's records like “Odyssey”, as well as by the sharp contrast towards polyrhythmic subgenres like Djent.
Enjoy the music!

Non e usor sa vorbesti despre Progressiv Metal. Cinema iubeste acest gen muzical nu il explica, cine il explica ii da mai putina importanta decat deserves de fapt, iar cine sings progressiv il lasa pe listener knows-i surprinda esenta, spiritul si traditia. Tocmai de aceea, curiozitatea emotion typical of a listener, where you listen to albumul celor de la DGM, a group care si-a consolidated position in acest gen inregistrand fines succese in cei plague 20 years of career.
Piesei “Hereafter"This incredible album, an album that is loved by you, is capable of being individualized thanks to the energy and music combined with the intelligence of the other ace group in an exciting rhythm that is characterized by many different songs."enhancement"And" Not In Need” Curg lin, cu spatii ample rhythmice, pentru a apoi stafeta sunetelor din “No Looking Back". Clear of the first notes, aceasta perforata music and capabila sa rapeasca sa-l transporte per listener intr-o furtuna de vibratii. Nu e greu de imaginat, in orice spectacol live, corul publicului dornic sa cante refrenul impreuna cu Mark Basile.
"Trapped"Eo piesa surprinzatoare: dura, pe alocuri a cinematographic proape, demna de a deveni coloana sound to a scene limits within an adventure film sau intr-unul politicitist. Harmony created by the main teacher to which Emanuele Casali introduces the listener in ceea cea deveni a progressive eulogy that culminates cu "...In a movie".
"Away"It's basically just headbanging: as long as you're energetic, this series of riffs will be in your music, you'll think you'll find a result of the mythological atmosphere. And you can play electronic music (trance, IDM and breakbeat) here."heartache” know no fie pe placul metalarilor intrasingenti, insa ar fi doar o senzatie de moment pentru ca aceasta piesa, in ansamblul ei, nu dezamageste deloc si are calitatea de a putea fi vanduta bine.

"Rest in Peace"And"Brand New Blood"There are two powerful songs from the Calasian matrix that are known to be listened to inspre"Fading & Falling”, adica inspre o melancholica balada, epilog al acestui album characterizat de sonoritati adrenalinice. Astfel, cei de la DGM demonstreaza ca au ajuns la acel grada de maturitate care le permite sa transmita emotii fara sa fie nevoiti sa recurga la artificii. Dar putea albumul sa se termina aici? Evident, nu. Ca si bonus track se oferera listentorului”Roses in the Wind”, the piesa poate nu excesiv de stralucitoare prin originalitate, insa destul de decisa en arata ca acest grup ne va pray surprize placute in anni ce vor urma.

Albumul satisface pe deplin gusturile listener: piesele sunt interpreted in impeccable way. Sunetul intregului disc este coerent se tinde inspre valorizarea deplina a fiecarui artist. Let me know, this album is a progressive production, which leads to a perfect symphonic metal in the '90s (three of the most popular intelegems of Metal + '90s are the obligatory Black Sabbath…). Dealtfel, this “demodate” note seems to suggest a soi de dedicatione oculta adusa discurilor lui Malmsteen (“Odyssey”) dar si o neta antiteza cu cea a curentelor poli-rhythmice (Djent).
Auditie placuta!
